Getting married at Vancouver City Hall is one of the most popular ways for couples to celebrate their love in a simple yet meaningful way. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about a City Hall micro wedding, from booking to saying your vows.
WHAT IS A VANCOUVER CITY HALL MICRO WEDDING?
A micro wedding at City Hall is a 30 minute civil ceremony held in the Council Chamber. These ceremonies are designed for couples who want a private and intimate celebration, usually with only their witnesses and a small number of guests.

HOW TO BOOK YOUR CEREMONY
Availability: City Hall micro weddings are offered only on designated weekdays and times between 9:30am and 3:30pm. Slots are limited, so booking early is important. You can check the latest dates on the City of Vancouver’s weddings page.
Cost: Fees range depending on guest capacity and are subject to GST. Always confirm the most current rates on the official weddings page.
Requirements: You must bring your valid marriage licence and at least two witnesses.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Marriage licence
Two witnesses (age 19+)
Rings, if exchanging vows
Your chosen officiant
LIMITATIONS TO KEEP IN MIND
City Hall weddings are a beautiful option, but they come with restrictions: limited dates, limited times, and capacity rules. Couples also need to arrange their own photography and personalization is minimal.

OUR ROLE AT CITY HALL
As licensed officiants, we can also perform your legal wedding ceremony directly at Vancouver City Hall. If you love the idea of celebrating in the historic Council Chamber, we can be there with you to ensure your vows are made official.

AN ALTERNATIVE: SIGNING CEREMONY
If you love the idea of a small and stress free wedding but want more flexibility, consider our all inclusive Signing Ceremony package. Unlike City Hall, this option includes officiant services, the full legal process, photography support, and even the Signing Room rental fee. You get the same legal recognition with more freedom to add meaningful touches.
