VANCITY OFFICIANT
Vancity Officiant is a Vancouver-based wedding officiant team founded by Kevin Leung and Kit Chan.
Since 2014, we have officiated more than 2,100 weddings across British Columbia, helping couples create ceremonies that feel personal, clear, and grounded in real connection.
Our work includes legal signing ceremonies, intimate weddings, multicultural weddings, trilingual ceremonies, and pet-inclusive celebrations through our Pawfect Witness™ initiative.

Kevin Leung & Kit Chan
Vancity Officiant was founded by Kevin Leung and Kit Chan, both Certified Life Cycle Celebrants® and ordained metaphysical ministers.
Before becoming wedding officiants, both Kevin and Kit worked as award-winning wedding photojournalists, documenting weddings and observing the emotional reality of ceremonies from behind the camera.
Over the years, their work has brought them into a wide range of ceremonies and family dynamics, from simple legal signings to multilingual weddings that bring together different cultures, generations, and traditions.
Kevin, in the eyes of Kit
Kevin’s presence in a wedding ceremony is steady, composed, and deeply grounded.
He approaches every ceremony as a meaningful life milestone, one that deserves dignity, clarity, and emotional presence. Over the years, he has officiated over 1500 weddings, and couples often say that his calm guidance helps them feel supported and fully present in the moment.
His strength lies in his sense of responsibility and quiet leadership. Every gesture and every movement in a ceremony is deliberate, allowing the focus to remain where it belongs: on the couple and their commitment.
Beyond his work with couples, Kevin also has a deep love for animals, especially rescue dogs. That tenderness often appears most clearly during pet-inclusive ceremonies, where his warmth and genuine affection become part of the moment itself.

Kit, in the eyes of Kevin
Before becoming an officiant, Kit was an award-winning wedding photojournalist.
Her years documenting weddings gave her a deep sensitivity to human emotion and the subtle moments that unfold during life’s most meaningful events. Today, she brings that same sensitivity into the ceremonies she leads.
She carries a rare emotional awareness. Her empathy is intuitive, her standards are high, and every ceremony she creates carries small, thoughtful details that reflect how deeply she listens to each couple’s story.
Couples often say they feel safe and understood in her presence. She helps them move beyond expectations or traditions that do not feel authentic, while still guiding them with clarity and care.
In 2025, Kit created Pawfect Witness™, bringing her love for animals into the heart of her officiant work. The initiative reflects a simple belief that continues to shape her life and ceremonies alike: that every living being deserves to be seen with dignity and compassion.
Vancity Officiant Today
Since 2014, Vancity Officiant has officiated more than 2,100 weddings across British Columbia and received over 300 five-star reviews from couples who valued not only the legal completion of their marriage, but also the experience of being guided through the moment with calm, clarity, and confidence.
Today, our work includes everything from simple legal signing ceremonies and intimate elopements to multicultural weddings that bring together families, languages, and traditions. Every ceremony is approached with the same intention: to create a moment that feels grounded, respectful, and true to the couple standing in front of us.
Our ceremonies are:
-
legally recognized in British Columbia
-
available in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
-
respectful of cultural traditions and modern relationships
-
designed for couples who want a ceremony that feels calm, meaningful, and personal

Pawfect Witness™
Our Pawfect Witness™ initiative reflects an important part of who we are and the way we see relationships in the ceremonies we guide.
For us, including animals in a wedding ceremony is not simply about being “pet-friendly.” It is about recognizing that the bonds people share with animals are real relationships, filled with loyalty, companionship, and quiet presence.
Kit’s deep respect for animals began with her first dog, Fi Chai, whose companionship shaped how she understands devotion and unconditional connection. Today, our rescued dogs Fagu and Maji continue that story as the ambassadors behind Pawfect Witness™, occasionally attending elopement ceremonies as gentle witnesses to the moment.
Their presence often brings a unique calmness to the ceremony. In those moments, couples are reminded that love is not only expressed through vows between two people, but also through the relationships that surround and support their lives.
For every pet-inclusive wedding, we also make a small donation to a local animal rescue, continuing the cycle of care that inspired Pawfect Witness™ in the first place.

The Ensora
Our work as officiants eventually led to the creation of The Ensora, an intimate indoor ceremony venue in Richmond, British Columbia designed specifically for small and meaningful wedding ceremonies.
The space was created as a calm and intentional environment where couples can focus on the moment itself. With its minimalist design and quiet atmosphere, The Ensora offers an alternative for couples who prefer a simple, private ceremony without the scale or complexity of a traditional wedding venue.
Today, The Ensora welcomes couples who are looking for micro weddings, elopements, and legal signing ceremonies, providing a space where the ceremony remains the heart of the experience.
